Ultimate Burger with Garlic Sauce

Ingredients

Burger Patties:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns

Toppings:

  • 3 small onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 thick tomato slices
  • Olive oil spray
  • lettuce for garnish

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup low-fat mayo
  • 3 cloves freshly minced garlic
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Directions

Directions

  1. Combine ground beef, 1 small onion, 2 tsp garlic powder, and 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper. Separate and shape into 4 even burger patties.
  2. Heat barbecue to 400° F. Cook burgers on the barbecue on medium-high heat for 12 minutes, or until an internal temperature of 165° F is reached.
  3. Meanwhile, make sauce by combining mayo, minced garlic, and garlic powder; set aside.
  4. Fry 3 small onions in a small frying pan on medium heat sprayed with olive oil until soft.
  5. Once burgers are cooked, reduce barbecue temperature to low and lightly toast burger buns for 2 minutes.
  6. Layer onions, burger patty, tomato, and lettuce on the bottom half of the bun. Spread sauce on top half and top burger.
